The chief aims of the course are to encourage the students to detect areas of study for a more comprehensive review on “History of Western Intellectual Development”. It must be noted that the students should read the course thoroughly the text as well as the philosophers’ ideas.

This subject is the Core Course or Major Course for Second Year Philosophy students. Therefore, the students must study this subject thoroughly. 

This course is an introduction to Chinese philosophy, concerning the work of such major thinkers as Confucius, Mencius, Hsun Tzu, Mohism, Taoism, Neo-Confucianism and Neo-Taoism. Topics of discussion include the general characteristics of Chinese philosophy, human nature and the human condition, the meaning and value of life, and the nature of the good life.

This subject is the Core Course or Major Course for Second Year Philosophy students. Therefore, the students must study this subject thoroughly. 

This course aims at being an introduction to the general study of Mill’s method, the nature of inference in science, how to falsify some hypothesis by giving negative instances, some characteristics of scientific methodology and some philosophers’ conception of scientific method.

This subject is the Core Course or Major Course for Second Year Philosophy students. Therefore, the students must study this subject thoroughly. 

This course aims to begin the development of analytical philosophy and its general characteristics, the nature of existentialism, idealism and contemporary philosophy, and postmodern thought and some significant philosophers’ views on existentialism, contemporary idealism and postmodern thought from the philosophical perspective. In addition, the course will provide an orientation about the notion of analytical philosophy and significant notions and concepts in twentieth century western philosophy. It can also be familiar to students with major figures and movements in the history of western philosophy; familiar with central concepts, topics, theories, and debates and current developments in western philosophy.

This subject is the Core Course or Major Course for Second Year Philosophy students. Therefore, the students must study this subject thoroughly. 

This course aims to provide a unique set of moral values and rules from world religions and ancient cultural views to guide human beings in their relationship with the environment. In addition, the course will provide an orientation about the notions of religion, it can be a powerful source for environmental conservation and protection and world religions, each in their own way, offer a unique set of moral values and rules to guide human beings in their relationship with the environment.

This subject is the Elective Course or Minor Course for Second Year Philosophy students. Therefore, the students can choose either this subject or another minor course for this academic year.
